Imelda May to perform with Jools Holland!
You think she might need a lie down after rewriting Rockabilly for the 21st century and tearing through 2007 like a speedway racer in leopard print (with much better hair of course...) but Imelda May is a lady on a musical mission!
Starting off on May 14th in Middlesborough, and going on through until 20th July, our delicious diva will be supporting the wonderfully superb Jools Holland on his summer tour.
Jools invited Imelda to perform on his BBC Radio 2 show recently - it was aired on April 7th - and amongst the three tracks he very skillfully played from Imelda's latest CD, Love Tattoo, two songs were performed live in the studio with Mr. Holland's top band of orchestral wizards - Baby What You Want Me To Do and Rollin' & Tumblin'.
Add to that Imelda being awarded Best Female Newcomer Of The Year from the pretigious Irish World Newspaper Awards in the early part of the year, and perhaps, just perhaps the musical gods will smile on Imelda and make 2008 her year.
